The agostiniano complex of Saint Spirito is one of great religious and artistic monuments of Florence, acquired from the Common one in 1868. The Museum has center in the ancient Cenacolo of the Convent, decorated from a huge one I fresco representing of Andrea representing Orcagna the Crocifissione and the Last Supper (of the 1365 c.a).
In the immense atmosphere the sculptures donated to the Common one of Florence in the 1946 from the Neapolitan antiquarian are placed Salvatore Romano, one small but chosen collection that goes from the pre-Romanesque age to XV the century; the nucleus of Romanesque sculptures constitutes one of the rare presences to Florence of the art of this period.
Between the more meaningful works the Cariatide and the adoring Angel of Vat of Camaino are signaled, the Madonna with Child of Jacopo of the Oak and two bassorilievi of Donatello with Saint Prosdocimo and San Massimo, coming from from the Basilica of the Saint to Padova. |
